NAC Committee

Leadership roles for students can be found all over R. L. Young. These young ladies represent the Nutritional Advisory Council (Payton McD., Kylie B., Hayley H., Hannah S., Candace B., and Chloe D.). This council assists Mrs. Gurley with the daily tasks that help make the lunchroom run smoothly. We appreciate our students leading the way and helping make our school even better!

Anticipated ARMT results

Mrs. Thomas has been busy meeting with all the students in 4th-6th grade.  She passed out their individual ARMT results.  The students have been waiting patiently to see how well they scored.  She discussed the wall of success with them and let them highlight where their score fell on the chart. Many of the students were surprised that they missed a 3 or 4 by just a couple of points.  The students enjoyed having the principal talk to them about their success.

Footprints

The 6th grade students have been busy looking into the future. They have been thinking of things that they might enjoy doing later on in their life.  The top two colleges that the students wanted to attend were the University of Alabama and Auburn University.  Several of the students wanted to become nurses, teachers, writers, and vetenarians. Many of the students hope to play college sports and then go on and play at the pro level. A couple of them wanted to create the games that we play on computers and the Xbox. One student wanted to win the Heisman, and one student planned on being in the PGA. WOW! HOW EXCITING!!!! It would be interesting to hang on to their feet at the end of the school year and take them out again in 2020- the year they graduate. Who will change goals? Who will keep the same goal?
