GREENLAND WITH JOSHUA
The Upper Grade Academy would like to thank Joshua, a former R.L.student, and his wife, Lydia, for sharing information about his recent trip to Greenland. Joshua received his BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama. He was asked to be on a team that researched and created radars. His presentation was very interesting and informative. He had to have special clothing, boots, and gloves to keep him warm. His team flew by military planes into Kangerlussuaq, and then they were taken to a camp in East Grip. It was 0 degrees when they arrived there. His group had to constantly be on the look-out for polar bears. The ice there was two miles thick and their tents were set up on the ice. We learned so much from him. Thanks, Joshua.
